Technical Fibre Products (TFP) have been developing materials for use in composites for nearly 30 years and offer a custom range of veils and mats specially designed for use in composite applications.
These nonwovens are compatible with all common resin systems and fabrication techniques and are extensively used as surfacing veils to provide a high quality resin rich surface finish. In addition to improving surface finish these materials can also be used to impart surface functionality such as corrosion and abrasion resistance as well as EMI shielding, electrostatic dissipation or electrical conductivity.
TFP nonwovens can also be used to improve interlaminar toughness in composites as well as acting as a composite fabrication aid. Our Optiveil™ range of nonwovens is available in areal weights from 2g/m² making it the ideal candidate for use as an adhesive carrier or stabilising support for fragile component materials.
TFP also manufacture Tecnofire®, a range of highly effective fire protection materials. These intumescent mats can be infused with resin and integrated into the composite structure to provide a built in solution for fire protection.
At TFP we pride ourselves on the quality and uniformity of our nonwovens and are accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. We also operate a FOD prevention programme in accordance with NAS412. Although we offer a range of standard products these just represent a limited proportion of our capability and we welcome the opportunity to develop new materials or adapt products to meet specific performance and processing requirements.
If you have a specific material requirement or would like more information regarding our products and capability please contact us.
