“Sandwich panels and laminates, produced from MC Gill’s own prepreg and core materials, are qualified to all major OEM specifications. K Gill is also a major supplier of Nomex@ honeycomb in sheet form and as details. Detailed floor panels are produced for aircraft build programmes or to drawing as replacements. The acquisition of Alcore Inc and Alcore Brigantine by MC Gill in 2001 brought an additional range of capabilities and markets to the Corporation based on aluminium honeycomb production, detailing and machining. New developments from MC Gill include ballistic panels from Keylar@ and 5-2 Glass@ to withstand the NI] III-A threat level and provide protection for sensitive areas such as the aircraft cockpit. laminates based on these two fibres can be custom manufactured and tailored to individual specifications. MC Gill has also introduced a new honeycomb to its product range, Gillcore@ HK based on N636 Kevlar@ paper from DuPont. This is undergoing evaluation and qualification for several aircraft programmes due to its improved performance and weight saying potential compared to Nomex@ honeycomb. The MC Gill Europe manufacturing and distribution operation has recently been appointed by BAE Systems as sole distributor of replacement floor panels for all BAE regional aircraft (R], jetstream, ATP).”
