Zeon do Brasil Now Offering Innovative Telene DCPD-RIM

Zeon do Brasil (SP), is now the official South-American distributor of TeleneDCPD, a polymer compound processed using Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM).

Zeon says Telene’s DCPD-RIM solutions have proven to be an excellent alternative to metal and processes using fiberglass, such as sheet moulded compound (SMC), in a wide variety of applications, including body panels for trucks and buses, agricultural equipment, housing materials used in sinks and bathtubs, and waste water treatment tanks. It says Telene parts have a better impact resistance, are lighter and more eco-friendly.

Since 2010, several OEMs, including Iveco, John Deere, Agco and Volvo, amongst others, have utilised locally produced pDCPD parts on their Brazilian models.

Recently, Brazilian truck OEMs have switched to Telene for several parts of their Euro 5 trucks and are reviewing several other components. “After several months of lab and field testing for the tough road conditions of the South American markets, Telene pDCPD has proven its superiority to polyester glass fibre composite body panels. Where FRP panels show significant deterioration over time, those made with Telene have displayed virtually no damage,” says Ademir Somavilla, Managing Director of Polirim do Brasil, a pDCPD moulder active in Brazil.

“By appointing Zeon do Brasil as our distributor in the region, we will provide fast and close-by assistance to the design and engineering teams. We want to make sure that the application design will maximise the use of Telene key attributes to the benefit of the OEM and end-customer in terms of cost as well as performance. The rapidly developing Brazillian market is of great strategic importance to Telene as well,” says Alexander Daemen, VP Rimtec Global Sales and Marketing Telene.
