METRAVIB, a specialist in dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), is proud to present Xpander.
Used in association with its DMA instrument, METRAVIB says that Xpander enables DMA tests to run on a large number of samples to be entirely automated. Laboratories can therefore significantly increase the productivity of their test facilities.
According to METRAVIB, dynamic mechanical analysis serves to characterise the viscoelastic properties of materials to an extremely high level of accuracy. In particular, it is the most accurate technique available to determine the glass transition of these materials (TG). It says that such properties are central to the performance and functional properties of manufactured products. It is essential to measure such properties in order to comply with new regulations.
The diversity of formulations used, combined with varied sourcing of raw materials, means that laboratories must conduct increasing numbers of tests.
Xpander has been designed to significantly increase the number of tests performed by DMA instruments in various test modes, including compression, traction and shearing. Tests are performed around the clock and are no longer restricted by the need for an operator to be present.
METRAVIB claims that Xpander’s flexibility means that it can be used for material samples of various shapes and sizes. The DMA+ range having been designed from the outset with the integration of Xpander in mind, these analysers offer the same level of performance used in either manual or robotic mode.
