Vishmat Technologies and Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) have established a plant to produce high tenacity advanced technical textiles from glass fibre with speciality coatings at Srivilliputtur, southern Tamil Nadu in India.

Vishmat has registered its Indian process patent for the technology developed in-house and it will soon introduce quake resistance composite fabrics derived from a combination of glass, carbon and aramid materials. The company currently produces speciality coated glass fibre technical textile mesh fabrics for road reinforcements, gypsum wall reinforcements and plaster reinforcements under the Vishmat brand.

The company has started exports to the UK, South Africa, Israel and the U.S. A liaison office has been opened in the UK, while an executive has been posted at Shenzen in China.
