At 9.00am on Tuesday 12th November, Hall 5 at Birmingham’s NEC will see its doors open for the 2013 Composites Engineering Show.

The organisers, UK Tech Events say that this is the UK’s largest ever composite materials, design and processing event, hosted for 2 days over Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th November.  With more exhibitors than ever before, an expanded open conference programme, supporting feature exhibits as well as an impressive range of input from leading industry bodies, the event has become a crucial focal point on the industry’s annual calendar.

“As ever more industry groups seek to exploit the unique benefits of composite materials into their products and structures” comments the show’s Director Ian Stone, “the event has rapidly become a ‘must attend’ for engineering teams involved in low volume high performance products through to higher volume consumer & industrial product engineering”.

Some of the host of new names on the show floor this year for the very first time, which encompasses some 200+ specialist suppliers of composites capability, include the likes of Eastman Machine, Forward Composites, Krauss Maffei, Codem Composites, Hubron Speciality, SageZander, SAUER GmbH (DMG Mori Seiki), VELOX GmbH, Morgan Advanced Materials, Cobham Composite Technologies, Caterham Technology, Cathay Composites but to name just a handful. Ian Stone sums up the 2013 show floor proposition “Attendees this year get to experience the UK’s biggest ever showcase of composites materials, moulding and processing equipment, trade processors and fabricators, composites design, simulation, test and automation partners and generally companies supporting all sides of the UK’s rapidly growing composites supply chain”

A crucial component of this year’s Composites Engineering Show is the unprecedented volume and diversity of free to attend technical and strategic presentations.  Ian stone  comments “Visitors get the benefit being able to pick and choose from some 20 hours’ worth of packed parallel expert presentations covering the very latest in composites materials and process advances, latest applications, market trends and industry requirements.  Many of these are hosted by leading industry organisations including NetComposites, Composites UK, RAPRA, EPSRC Centre for Innovative Manufacturing in Composites, Composites Skills Alliance, and others.

Stone continues, “This year’s open conference programme provides a critical mass of content designed to provide invaluable education and intelligence. Feature theme sessions this year include Composite Materials, Process & Capability Advances, Digital Engineering/Simulation, Automotive Composites, Composites in Motorsport, A350 XBW composites wing, Bio Composites, Nano Composites, Next-Generation Composite Manufacturing Processes, Non-Destructive Testing of Composites, Thermoplastics, Composites Sustainability & Recycling. Composites UK take the lead on feature sessions illustrating developing UK technology, process & skills infrastructure supporting the industry’s future expansion, together with coverage of key developments such as the Composites Leadership Forum, designed to deliver the next stage of the UK’s National Composites Strategy as well as AMSCI Round 2 (Composites Innovation Cluster) progress.

Attendees can register now for a free entry badge to all exhibits areas, open conference streams and feature exhibits. Composites Engineering Show and its co-located with other events under the Advanced Engineering UK 2013 banner.
