Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division announced the introduction of two new Silmar brand resin series for the cast polymer industry, SIL94BA-1573 and SIL94BA-1575. The SIL94BA-1573 series is specifically designed to be used with both alumina trihydrate filled and calcium carbonate filled cast polymers. Even though SIL94BA-1573 is light in color, it has excellent green strength development that allows for fast de-mold times. The SIL94BA-1575 series is unique in that its cure is generally not sensitive to changes in filler composition. It can be used for producing marble, onyx and granite effect cast products without major changes in cure conditions. This is especially important to a cast polymer manufacturer who only uses granite effect fillers in certain formulations. Interplastic Corporation is a specialty chemical company headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. It is focused on the production and distribution of unsaturated polyester resins, vinyl ester resins and gel coats to the composites and cast polymer industries. Interplastic Corporation is ISO 9002-registered.
