Italian company, Top Glass, has joined forces with the Russian company Galen to establish a joint company specialising in the manufacture of high-tech composite profiles.

According to Top Glass, they have been partners with Galen since 2011 when the Russian company started to manufacture composite street light poles using Top Glass technology. They say the poles have been produced by Top Glass for many years and are used widely in Europe.

In 2012 the Russian and Italian companies became formally partnered in a joint enterprise called High Tech Profile. Top Glass say the new company, recently opened in the Republic of  Belarus, will produce standard composite profiles and centrifugal casting poles cost effectively for consumers in Eastern Europe.

Top Glass explains that the products manufactured by High Tech Profile have huge potential in civil and industrial construction, power supply, the transport sector and telecommunications. Composite profiles are used in many different everyday structures. The properties of composite materials allow the creation of many innovative products for various industries.

“Our experience and manufacturing potential together with scientific and technical expertise give us the possibility to make products of high European quality,” – said General Director of Galen, Valery Nikolaev. “For more than 10 years we have specialised in manufacturing by pultrusion. This method is used for the production of profiles. In this area, Top Glass will be our technology partner. Certainly both companies are interested in widening our product range and sales areas. The profile market is a young but growing in Eastern Europe; and we will offer and make available quality products made in Russia.”
