ThermHex Waben, an EconCore licensee, has opened a new industrial production line in Halle (Saale), Central Germany.

ThermHex offers a range of polypropylene honeycomb core products with core thickness starting from 3 mm and cell sizes varying between 3 to 9 mm. This new type of sandwich material is produced from a single polypropylene film in a continuous thermoforming, folding and bonding operation which also includes lamination of thin thermoplastic layers and polyester non-woven finish onto the core.

Jochen Pflug, CEO of ThermHex Waben GmbH highlighted the advantages for ThermHex users: “The optimized cell size and structure of ThermHex honeycomb core, compared with other material in the market allow exceptional surface quality even with very thin skin material layers. It furthermore helps to secure an excellent bond between core and for example GRP skins.”
