The Spheretex Team is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the development of the first glassfibre based core material, ‘Sphere.tex’ which began development when CEO and majority shareholder Siggi Gerhards started in the 80’s.
A few years later, in 1991, the company was founded by Gerhards and his Senior Partner, Klaus Kölzer and named after this very first product: Spheretex.
Spheretex explains that, over the years, many different types of glass- and polyester fibre-based core materials have been developed to meet the ever-changing requirements of the composite industry. Its product range includes laminatable core materials for hand lay-up, filament winding and closed mould processes. Spheretex says that its core materials are used for all kinds of FRP applications that require light weight, long term durability and easy processing, such as marine and automotive industry, wind energy, tanks and pipes.
At the 25th anniversary party, Gerhards expressed his special thanks to the long-serving employees who have been working with him for so many years. His team thanked him for his long years of outstanding service and commitment to the company during the past 25 years and his continuous support in the future.
