The Gill Corporation has successfully passed their annual AS9100, Revision C Re-Certification audit.

AS9100 is the quality management system (QMS) standard for the aviation, space and defense industries. Released in January of 2009, AS9100 Revision C (sometimes called AS9100:2009) is the fourth and very latest release of the standard set by SAE International. The Aerospace Basic Quality System Standard was developed by a group of US aerospace prime contractors under the auspices of the Society of Automotive Engineers. The standard is based in ISO 9000 (International Organisation for Standardisation) with requirements that are unique to the aerospace industry. ISO 9000 relates to quality management systems that address systemic changes.

The Gill Corporation explains that the AS9100 Revision C has additional requirements in virtually every section of the existing AS9100 standards with the significant addition of the risk management, project management, configuration management, and enhanced focus on customer satisfaction.

The intent of Revision C is to create a proactive quality management system that addresses the elements of risk management and reduces the likelihood of undesirable situations in the manufacturing environment.

Quality Assurance Manager Claudia Feier, supported by Quality Engineer Wilson Ng and Quality Supervisor Kevin Rodriguez, oversaw the audit process which was conducted by three AS9100 auditors over four days in late September. At the conclusion of the audit Stephen Gill, Chairman and CEO, shared, “Each day the quality standards in our industry get tougher and tougher. We’re committed to quality and staying ahead of the curve. The audit findings show that the name Gill stands for quality throughout the industry”.
