The Composites Group (TCG) introduces PremierUV, a new family of high-performance ultraviolet-resistant, flame retardant thermoset sheet moulding compounds (SMC) for electrical and outdoor applications, including electrical enclosures, light housings and warning tiles.

“Our new PremierUV products have ultraviolet weathering characteristics superior to competitive materials on the market,” said Marc Imbrogno, Corporate Director of Market/Product Development. “We’re in the development stages for additional PremierUV materials, as well, and hope to bring them to market this fall.”

The PremierUV line is comprised of two new-to-market materials, PremierUV VSH-25S and PremierUV VLH-25S. Both are fiberglass reinforced compounds with non-halogen flame-retardant technology.

The company claims these materials deliver top-quality colour retention as well as resistance to chalking and glass bloom. Both are pigmentable for moulded-in colour and can accommodate a range of pigments. Custom formulations also are available to meet customers’ needs.
