Rutland Plastic Technologies is to expand into the Structural Reinforced Plastics market with its formal introduction of its new line of Structural Engineered Plastisol (SEP) resins.

Under development for five (5) years, this technology is expected to find broad usage in many markets and is compatible with most all composite processes.

Rutland was founded in 1962 and is a leading manufacturer and supplier of PVC plastisol and polyurethane compounds used in many commercial applications, including screen printing inks, automotive filtration and industrial compounds including coatings, moldings, and adhesives. The company operates an 80,000 square foot plant in Pineville, NC and is QS-9000:1998 (Based on and including ISO9001:1994) and ISO 14001:1996 certified.

Processes such as pultrusion, filament winding, moulding, potting, encapsulation and extrusion will find that the SEP resins are ideally suited for the production of high quality composite parts featuring many of the same physical and mechanical properties as traditional thermoset composites, but with significant advancements in such areas as toughness, electrical performance, fire retardance, impact resistance and extremely low water absorption.

This SEP resin, as opposed to traditional thermoplastic resins, is immediately useable in your existing equipment without the need for additional investments and SEP resins may be purchased in 5-gallon sample quantities with production quantities available in 55-gallon drums, 250- gallon totes or bulk shipment.
