Sparta Composite Products has recently completed delivery of the first production integrated composite nosecone sensor housing and integrated wing assemblies to DRS Unmanned Technologies in support of Neptune, an unmanned aircraft system (UAS).

The Neptune air vehicle is the latest in a series of unmanned tactical air vehicles designed and manufactured by DRS Unmanned Technologies. The UAV System was specifically developed to address tactical military operations over land or water, where formal runway systems are unavailable.

Sparta Composite Products supports DRS Unmanned Technologies by providing composite engineering, tooling, production engineering, full-scale airframe component production and hardware integration and sub-assembly services.

“We are very proud to be able to support the Neptune program and DRS Unmanned Technologies with these mission-critical production assemblies. This is an extremely important system that provides our warfighters with an unprecedented level of real-time battlefield information,” stated Paul Oppenheim, Vice President and General Manager of Sparta Composite Products.
