SP-High Modulus to Exhibit Marine Composites in Auckland

SP-High Modulus, the marine business of Gurit, will be exhibiting in the Australasian market for the first time since Gurit’s acquisition of High Modulus.

The Auckland International Boat Show, taking place on the 11th-14th March, gives SP-High Modulus the chance to demonstrate its latest line of marine composite products.

The range now includes the B3 SmartPac solution, which comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boatbuilding.

Other products to be showcased include the new marine Corecell M-Foam, which SP-High Modulus say is the only foam core to offer high shear strength, low weight and high elongation, low resin uptake for infusion processes and high-temperature stability for prepreg processes.

The high-performance marine adhesive Spabond 540 will also be promoted as a product for bonding large polyester and epoxy GRP structures. With its extended working times, toughness and strength, it has been designed to bond stringers/bulkheads, frames and hull-to-deck joints on medium to large production boats.
