SP High Modulus (SP) is partner sponsor for the 2011 UK Zhik Moth National Championships due to be held at Stokes Bay, July 7-10.

SP explain that a number of the craft competing at the Zhik Moth National Championships have been manufactured using their composite materials in their hulls and rigs. They will be facilitating a materials pack which will be available for all competitors to perform any potential running repairs that might arise during the event.

“SP-High Modulus is proud to support the UK Zhik 2011 Moth National Championships. The competition’s design ethos of high performance, innovation and lightness, match the qualities that SP High Modulus has been delivering to the marine market for over 30 years”, commented Peter Tyler, Head of Marine Sales EMEA at SP-High Modulus.

UK Moth Class President, Mike Lennon, said he is delighted to have SP-High Modulus on board as a partner sponsor of the Zhik 2011 Moth National Championships; “The SP High Modulus brand has a natural fit with the Moth Class, so this association is a logical one which we believe will be mutually beneficial,” adding, “SP High Modulus is the renowned world leader in marine composites, and the Class and competitors are looking forward to benefiting from SP High Modulus’ products and support”.

In other news, SP has opened a new office in Bristol, US to house sales, customer service and engineering teams, including those previously based in Gloucester, US. Paul Goddard, Director Marine Asia Pacific and North America commented: “We are pleased to be able to offer our North American customers the benefit of having both our sales and engineering teams located on the one site.”
