SP-High Modulus is the silver sponsor of the 2012 Superyacht Cup in Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK.

According to SP, a number of the yachts participating in the event feature SP-High Modulus’ engineering and materials. The Cowes Superyacht Cup takes place from 22-25th July, just a few days before the start of the 2012 London Olympics. The event is organised in association with the Royal Yacht Squadron and boasts an impressive number of prestigious yachts participating.

SP explain that the largest entry participating at the Cup is ‘Hetairos’, the 67m (219ft) superyacht launched in 2011 from Baltic Yachts. SP supplied both materials and engineering to the build of Hetairos. They say Hetairos is the largest yacht produced by Baltic and its hull is believed to be the largest single prepreg moulding ever built. Other entries in the event that feature SP materials and engineering include Mari Cha III (materials and engineering), Leopard III (materials) and Ivanka (materials and engineering) amongst others.

Peter Tyler, Head of Marine Sales EMEA commented “SP-High Modulus is proud to be sponsoring the first Superyacht Cup to be held in Cowes. We look forward to seeing many of the superyachts that have used our materials and engineering services taking part in this new and exciting event”.
