Continuing on from its innovative P-Series, Sony has once again managed to reduce the weight of its Netbook range, this time using a carbon fibre shell on its latest model, the Vaio X.

The Vaio X comes in a variety of different styles and specifications, Sony stating that the lightest model weighs in at just 655g. Carbon fibre was chosen as a base for the Vaio X Series as it is strong and light.

Featuring an 11.1” screen, the new netbook is 13.9mm slim and the extended life battery is said to offer around 16 hours of battery life. It comes with either 1.86GHz or 2GHz processor, a 128GB or 256GB flash drive and is available in a range of colours.

The Vaio X is due to be available before the end of the year.
