Sigmatex has completed the installation of Liba MAX 5 multi-axial technology at its US facility in Benicia, CA, USA.

Manufactured by LIBA Maschinenfabrik GmbH of Germany, the MAX 5 offers state of the art capability allowing for the production of light weight multi-axial (NCF) stitched carbon fibre fabrics from large tow count fibres in addition to industry standard materials. It is also capable of processing demanding intermediate and high modulus fibres.

The Liba MAX 5 will allow Sigmatex to supply materials, previously supported by its UK operation, directly into the market from its US facility. Applications within aerospace, automotive, marine and industrial markets which require such capabilities can benefit from this advanced technology and increased product offering.
