Sigma Ventures has been awarded a contract by Nova Bus to supply complete composite floors for Nova Bus urban and suburban buses.

The agreement with Nova Bus calls for the delivery of composite floors for four Nova LFS Articulated buses in 2007, with full scale production for all of Nova Bus’ vehicles to be reached early next year.

“”The vote of confidence expressed by Nova Bus, one of North America’s leading manufacturers of urban and suburban buses, in selecting Sigma as sole supplier of composite floors for its entire product line is a testimony to the attractiveness of our innovative composite technologies,”” stated Sigma Ventures President and CEO, Denis Bertrand. “”Our two recent acquisitions, combined with this new contract are significant steps in the deployment of our strategic plan to become a first class consolidator in the transport, bus, agriculture alternative energy sectors.””

Sigma has acquired Groupe Synergy Composites (GSC), a company specialized in the development of advanced composite products and technology for the utility vehicle and bus industries. Sigma is purchasing GSC through René Materials Composites Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. GSC has developed a unique composite body for the transportation sector, which offers characteristics such as light weight and resistance to corrosion while preserving high payload capacity.

“”GSC Inc’s innovative technology and promising product line are a perfect fit for Sigma Ventures and a great way for the Company to further diversify into new markets,”” said Sigma President and CEO, Denis Bertrand. “”While Sigma’s manufacturing capability offers a perfect way for GSC Inc to fully capture the full potential of its existing markets, Sigma’s existing manufacturing units will be able to capitalize on GSC Inc’s long standing culture of innovation and its unique technology.””
