Shape Machining has completed the introduction of the CNC machining verification software Vericut.

Vericut software and training were supplied by CGTech. The software enables Shape’s 5-axis programmers and machine operators to verify their tool paths for clash and collision avoidance, enabling them to be run safely with confidence.

NC programmes are now written and verified before jobs are loaded on to each machine. This gives Shape the ability to extend the available machining hours in a day and makes possible the planned introduction of a late and a night shift.

“Our experienced team of programmers have adapted quickly and incorporated the running of Vericut into our standard operating procedures,” reports Managing Director, Peter McCool. “As a business we continue to grow strongly. Each time we grow we need to change, adapt and relentlessly improve. Introducing Vericut is part of our push to constantly improve.”

Shape Machining specialises in machining metallic tools, epoxy tooling block patterns, Rohacell foams and the trimming of carbon fibre parts for the automotive, motorsport and aerospace industry.
