Scott Bader will be increasing the prices of all Crystic unsaturated polyester, DCPD and Vinyl Ester resins, plus all gelcoats and Crystic Crestomer structural adhesives.
This is the first increase since May 2007, and will mean an additional 100 €/t on all deliveries from its European sites from February 11th 2008.
Scott Bader say that this price rise is due to the increase in the costs of raw materials, combined with significant rises in energy and transportation costs, driven by the continued rise in the price of oil, which has now hit US$100 per barrel.
Malcolm Forsyth, European Commercial Director, Composites business division of Scott Bader commented “While we would prefer not to put up our prices, which have been stable for our customers since May 2007, raw material prices are expected to continue to increase over the coming months as demand increases. Scott Bader is continuing with cost reduction and efficiency initiatives to combat external cost pressures in an concerted effort to minimise any price rises which need to be passed on to our customers.”
