Scott Bader will promote two new Crestabond M7 (1:1) grades of methacrylate primer-less structural adhesives now available in black and specially developed for bonding pigmented ABS and carbon fibre composite components at Composites Europe.
According to Scott Bader, applications and parts fabricated using Advanced Composites materials and adhesives will also be on display, including the Spanish Ariane 3 ‘Moto3TM World Championship’ racing motorcycle, which has Crystic gel-coated and vacuum infused carbon fibre (CF) Crestapol 1250LV resin composite body panels, which are also structurally bonded with Crestabond, providing lightweight CFRP parts with very high impact strength and damage resistance.
It explains that the two new M7 grades added to the 1:1 ratio Crestabond range now offer manufacturers a colour choice of either off-white or black to meet any aesthetic requirements in an application in addition to bond performance. Both new black coloured grades are variants of the existing Crestabond M7 off-white grades in the range, providing the same attributes, handling and bond performance properties including: excellent fatigue and impact resistance; good gap filling capabilities up to 5mm; and minimal surface preparation required prior to bonding. As with the rest of the range, both black grades are also suitable for structurally bonding a wide range of popular engineering materials such as FRP, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, and Galvanised metals, ABS, Acrylic and Polycarbonate.
During Composites Europe, a technical paper is being presented on the first day of the show at 13:30, titled, ‘Gelcoats, Adhesives and Crestapol Resins for Land Transport Applications’, which Scott Bader explains will include recent successful transportation application case studies using Scott Bader Advanced Materials with CF fabrics, highlighting processing, productivity and performance in use benefits to manufacturers and end users.
Scott Bader will exhibit in Hall 5, Stand D37.
