SCIGRIP will be highlighting the crucial role that high strength adhesives play within the transportation sector whilst also introducing a new SG800 range of specialist methyl methacrylate (MMA) bonding systems at JEC Europe 2015.

Long term fatigue and short term crash resistance of vehicle components are essential considerations for vehicle manufacturers. This is combined with the desire to ensure assembly processes are as efficient as possible. In response, SCIGRIP will be introducing their SG800 products which it says are specially formulated and developed for automotive, agricultural vehicles, rail and heavy truck applications. The SG800 range is described as demonstrating environmental endurance and increased thermal resistance at temperatures above 120°C.

According to SCIGRIP, these products will appeal to manufacturers of composite structures striving to improve the aesthetics of components whilst optimising part design, production speeds and ultimately reducing costs. The SG800-05 and SG800-15 products are the latest additions to the portfolio and are available in black and off-white colours, offering multiple substrate adhesion to many un-primed metals, sheet moulding composite (SMC) and dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) materials.

Mark Rogan, SCIGRIP’s European Sales Manager remarks, “Our structural adhesives have been formulated to produce extremely tough and durable bonds. They offer a reliable, assembly solution that not only accelerates productivity levels but also improves passenger safety and vehicle performance”.
