SCIGRIP Europe will increase the price of its structural adhesives, effective from 1 May 2017.
Due to a tightening global supply situation, SCIGRIP says the key raw materials for smarter adhesive technologies have increased dramatically in price, by close to 40%. As a result and despite considerable efforts to offset the escalation for the past 6 months, SCIGRIP will implement a price increase of 8%across its European range of structural adhesives.
Tim Johnson, European Sales & Marketing Manager, commented, “SCIGRIP has a long history of providing price stability to our customers to demonstrate an appreciation of their business, so the decision to implement this increase is not something we do lightly. However, in order to maintain the highest levels of quality and service that we and our customers expect, it is unavoidable in the face of such a staggering increase in our raw material cost.”
SCIGRIP says it can confirm that it has received assurances of on-going security of supply from its partners. Indications from the market are that certain raw materials are in a shortage situation, however SCIGRIP is well placed to offer continued supply security to their customers despite the commercial pressure.
Johnson noted, “We are clear that the most important thing is to honour our commitments to supply our customers with products vital to their process and prevent this global issue impacting their business.”
