As part of its fall technical conference and exhibits, the Society for the Advancement of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE) announced a new conference program focusing on nanocomposites.

The nanocomposites track will be presented on October 31 – November 3, 2005 at the Washington State Convention Center.

Four conference sessions, four technical panels, a half-day tutorial and a nanocomposites keynote presentation will be offered.

Dr Wade Adams, Rice University, Houston, TX, will discuss “Nanotechnology and Energy: Be an Engineer – Save the World” in his keynote address on Tuesday, November 1. Subsequent topics over the next three days include: “Global vs. Regional Nanotechnology Development”, four sessions on Nanomaterials / Nanocomposites”, “Leading Edge Research in Nanotechnology”, Value-Chain Building and Manufacturing Scale-Up of Nano Industry” and “Workplace Nano Health and Safety”.

On Monday, October 31, Dr. Joseph Koo and Dr. Louis Pilato will present a half-day tutorial on nanocomposites technology.

In addition, all registrants for SAMPE’s nanocomposites conference can attend any of the other sessions being presented at the SAMPE Fall Technical Conference (also at the Washington State Convention Center). The Fall Technical Conference is sponsored by SAMPE’s Seattle chapter. Plus, all badged attendees can visit the SAMPE exhibits on Tuesday and Wednesday.
