The 25th anniversary of the SAMPE (Society for the Advancement of Materials and Process Engineering) Fellows Program will be recognized at the SAMPE ’07 Conference and Exhibition, June 3-7, 2007, in Baltimore, MD.

The SAMPE Fellow Award recognizes SAMPE members for their distinguished, lifelong contributions in the fields of materials and processes. Since its inception in 1982, 102 distinguished individuals have been designated as a SAMPE Fellow.

The 2007 honorees are:

  • Mr. Anthony Falcone, Associate Technical Fellow, The Boeing Company, Seattle, WA (posthumous)
  • Dr. Ori Ishai, Professor Emeritus, Technion Israel Institute of Technology, Haifa, Israel
  • Dr. Isao Kimpara, Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Aeronautics, College of Engineering and Director, Research Laboratory for Integrated Technological Systems, Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan
  • Dr. Joseph H. Koo, Director, Solid Freeform Fabrication Consortium, University of Texas, Austin, TX
  • Mr. Adrie Kwakernaak, Director, Hechting Instituut (Adhesion Institute), Delft Technical University, Netherlands
  • Dr. Charles Lee, Program Manager, Air Force Office of Scientific research, Directorate of Chemistry and Life Sciences, Ballston, VA
  • Mr. Jayant D. Patel, Boeing Technical Fellow, The Boeing Company, Long Beach, CA

SAMPE Fellows are members of a forum that provides technical and professional leadership to the Society. To provide access to this wealth of knowledge, SAMPE is presenting two new programs, the New Fellows Session and the Fellows Panel, at its Baltimore annual meeting. The New Fellows Session will feature this year’s newly inducted SAMPE Fellows, whilst the Fellows Panel will feature existing SAMPE Fellows.
