Royal Engineered Composites Acquires “Time Reversal” Technology

Royal Engineered Composites (REC) is the first North American Aerospace Composites company to add “Time Reversal” technology to their nondestructive inspection capabilities.

According to Royal, this “time reversal” technology, as it is called by Zetec, utilises a unique phase array ultrasonic technology to vastly improve efficiency and flexibility for inspection solutions.

Royal says it continues to position itself as a leader in technology for the future and for growth. This forward look keeps Royal’s employee owners advancing into new opportunities and positions everyday while creating a consistent need for new employee owners to join the team. Royal’s projected growth includes many new jobs over the next 12 months all with development and growth opportunities in an ownership culture.

Royal claims its investment in this technology will allow it to support structural composite fabrication. Royal says it is under contract to provide such structural components to a tier-one supplier for a composite-intensive commercial aircraft. Zetec’s innovative approach has completely redefined the potential of phased array UT technology with this approach.  This inspection system will help Royal fully exploit the capabilities of phased array ultrasonic technology to perform more efficient and reliable inspections.
