Rockwood Composites has won Composite UK’s Innovation in Manufacture Award.
Mark Crouchen and Douglas Johnstone represented the company at Composites UK’s Industry Awards dinner held at the National Motorcycle Museum on 31 October.
Rockwood specialises in designing and manufacturing composites components for sectors including, aerospace, automotive, medical and nuclear. The Rockwood team has been supplying these industries for 25 years.
The award for Innovation in Manufacture was presented to Rockwood Composites for its work with Tokamak Energy to develop a high voltage, high stress, electrical insulation system using high pressure moulding of prepreg composites. Tokamak aims to achieve commercial fusion power with a view of providing energy into the grid by 2030.
