Reichhold, Inc. has extended its Hydrex marine resin product line with the introduction of a new family of low-styrene resins for the boat building industry.

Hydrex LS is a low-styrene (less than 35%) enhancement of the company’s original Hydrex product (33250). This latest innovation in resin chemistry continues the quality tradition of Hydrex products with a unique blend of vinyl ester and DCPD resins. Hydrex LS is designed to deliver comparable performance to the “time tested” original Hydrex product line. Boat builders have relied on Hydrex resins to deliver hydrolytic stability, superior visual profile and ease of handling for over 15 years.

Marine applications for Hydrex LS and the entire family of Hydrex resins include skin coating and bulk laminating. Hydrex LS achieves styrene reduction and handling performance to create improved value compared with other resins in its class.

Toyota Marine Sports of Groveland, Florida, is one of the leading boat builders to take advantage of this innovative new product. Toyota produces high-quality, high-performance ski boats in North America and has designed its new models using a complete laminate schedule featuring Hydrex LS for skin coat and bulk laminating.
