Reichhold, Inc. is undertaking a significant investment to expand its facilities in Fredrikstad, Norway, to include the production of gel coats.

“”This is an excellent facility for us, allowing us to effectively supply our customers in Scandinavia, which is a very important market for Reichhold,”” commented Julia Harp, senior vice president of Global Composites.

“”This new investment and operation in Fredrikstad enables Reichhold to introduce new and more efficient technologies, which will provide improved service levels to our customers. The project also includes a new warehouse for finished goods including trading products which make it possible to ship all major product lines from one single source,”” said Finn Kristiansen, vice president of Global Composites Operations.

Earlier this year (January 2001) Reichhold completed another major investment on the Fredrikstad site. New distribution offices, maintenance workshops, a warehouse for raw materials, intermediates and finished goods were built to complete the plant’s structure. These departments existed earlier but at a premise that was unfunctional. The plant is scheduled to operate in January 2003.
