RAMPF Group will present its comprehensive RAKU-TOOL product portfolio for modelling and mould construction at CAMX 2014, from October 14-16 in Orlando, Florida, US.
According to RAMPF, visitors to this year’s CAMX trade show can experience first-hand the Close Contour Pastes, Close Contour Castings, and board materials of the RAKU-TOOL brand. It states the products are customised to meet the exact needs and applications of customers and are used especially in the automotive, marine, and aerospace industries.
RAMPF claims the polyurethane and epoxy resin materials are used at virtually all stages of product development – from design to manufacture – and ensure high-quality and cost-effective results.
RAMPF explains Close Contour Castings are delivered as a three-dimensional shape which is already a close contour of the final shape. The production process takes place in-house at RAMPF’s Close Contour Centre in Lake Forest, California, US. For this process, close co-operation between the customer and RAMPF is essential.
RAMPF continues that Close Contour Paste is applied to a close contour shape supporting structure, cured, and then machined according to CAD data. The paste is suitable for design and styling, master models, cubing models, moulds, jigs and fixtures, tools, and many more modelling and tooling applications. RAMPF also offers a Close Contour Paste application service at its Close Contour Centre.
The company states the new high-temperature RAKU-TOOL Close Contour Paste CP-6131 will also be presented at CAMX. It explains that after post-curing, the paste has a temperature resistance of up to 170 °C, making it possible to produce prepreg parts with high-quality mechanical properties. As well as the time saved by using the new paste for direct tooling (no original model is needed), the already seamlessly smooth surfaces, which can easily be high-gloss polished; do not have to be sealed. Heat is distributed quickly and evenly throughout the tool, and there are next to no limitations in the geometry of the components that can be produced.
RAMPF will also showcase its range of RAKU-TOOL board materials. It claims customers can benefit both from the high-performance standard range that can be adapted quickly to meet technical requirements on the market, as well as complete packages consisting of the board material, an adapted adhesive, and repair paste.
RAMPF Group will be exhibiting at stand 1467 at the show.
