Under the motto ’Competitive through Composites’, the AVK Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V. [Federation of Reinforced Plastics] will be hosting this year’s 9th International AVK Conference from 19 to 20 September, 2006.

The venue was relocated from Baden-Baden to the Messegelände Essen in the Congress Center Süd, as this AVK Congress is to be a prelude to Composites Europe, the newly established European trade fair for composites scheduled for 20 to 22 September, 2006, at the same location. Two series of lectures will be held where 27 speakers are to discuss current developments and trends. Important topics include:

  • The European market survey
  • Transportation
  • Pipes and containers
  • Natural fibres
  • RTM (Resin Transfer Moulding)
  • Processes and testing
  • Materials
  • Thermoplastic Composites

Simultaneous translations of these lectures will be offered in the language combinations German/English and English/German.

During the ’Composites Night’, a joint branch-oriented networking event that is to take place on 19 September, 2006, this year’s winners of the AVK Innovation Award 2006 will be honoured in the presence of the pertinent specialist press. Access to Composites Europe is free for all conference participants.

The AVK conference programme is available at their web site.
