Price Increases from AOC and Interplastic

Interplastic will be increasing the price of its CoREZYN vinyl ester, whilst AOC will also be increasing the prices of its vinyl esters

Steve Wetzel, National Sales Manager, and Daryl Francis, Business Manager West, said that Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN brand vinyl ester products $0.05 per pound for shipments on or after November 4, 2006. This includes all versions of vinyl ester, modified vinyl ester and VE barrier coat products.

“The epoxy market is very tight worldwide causing spot shortages with some suppliers. In addition sharp increases in raw materials used to manufacture these products has made it necessary to increase the price,” explains Wetzel. “We see this supply issue continuing the balance of 2006,” “Interplastic will do what it can to keep these increases to a minimum,” Wetzel continued.

AOC will increase prices by US $0.05 per pound on all vinyl ester resin products sold in North America shipped on or after November 15, 2006. They say that the feedstock costs for the manufacture of vinyl ester resins continues to increase, and that increased demand of critical ingredients and the impact of limited supply necessitated the increase.
