Huber Engineered Materials has announced a global price increase for its alumina trihydrate and magnesium hydroxide flame retardant products, effective 2 January 2018 or as current contracts allow.

Prices will increase depending on product grade and packaging.

This increase includes all Hydral, Hymod, Martifin, Martinal, Micral, MoldX, SB and SpaceRite grades of alumina trihydrate and Vertex grades of magnesium hydroxide.

Huber reports that it continues to focus on minimising the inflationary impact for its line of alumina trihydrate and magnesium hydroxide products, but cost increases in raw materials, labour, packaging, regulatory compliance and freight have necessitated this price adjustment. The increase is also a result of continued capital investments made to increase capacities in Huber’s manufacturing facilities to ensure ongoing product demand is maintained.

Huber’s halogen-free flame retardants and smoke suppressants are employed in a variety of end-use applications including reinforced polyester moulding and pultrusion, engineering thermoplastics and coatings.
