Price Increase for CoREZYN and Silmar Products

Interplastic Corporation’s Thermoset Resins Division is raising the price of CoREZYN and Silmar brand polyester and vinyl ester resins, gel coats, colorants and putties $0.06 per pound, effective on all shipments on or after December 1, 2012.

According to Interplastic, costs have escalated rapidly on several key polyester raw materials, especially styrene, because of a shortage of benzene and other aromatic feedstocks. This has been caused by unplanned plant outages due to Hurricane Isaac and to a lack of imports. In addition some key glycols are also in short supply. Interplastic says it will continue to work with key suppliers to minimise the impact of these costs and their effect on our customers.
