Premier Composite Technologies' Modular Fabrication FRP Stand Shortlisted for Blueprint Award

Premier Composite Technologies (PCT) has been shortlisted for the Blueprint Awardsforits all-composite stand for 100% Design London 2011.
The stand which is shortlisted for the ‘Best Stand Design‘ category has been designed by UNStudio and engineered, built and installed by PCT.
The Blueprint Awards, organised by Blueprint Magazine, are held each year at 100% Design London and, according to PCT, hundreds of designers enter these awards, now in their 15th year. PCT say the plaque is a mark of originality and quality from across the spectrum of exhibitors at the show that garners international respect from manufacturers and media alike.  This year’s panel of jurors includes Johnny Tucker, Editor, Blueprint; Deyan Sudjic, Director, Design Museum; Alison Stafford, Director, Moooi;  Designer Hector Serrano;  Martin Saxby, LG Himacs, Benjamin Spriggs, Associate Editor, Sunday Times Style and Rebecca Stewart, Arup. The award ceremony will take place on the first day of the show on Thursday22nd September.
PCT and UNStudio are collaborating at 100% Design London 2011 to demonstrate the benefits of designing and building with advanced composite materials over more traditional materials such as steel and concrete. The design for the stand presents a construction based on the repetition of a single geometric module. Moulded from carbon and glass fibre and epoxy resin composite combined with a structural foam core, the repeated assembled units utilize the light weight and extreme strength of the composite materials and create the potential for highly customised architectural configurations.
