Plataine has been selected by JEC Group as winner of its 2014 JEC Americas Innovation Award in the Software category.

The company will be recognised during the JEC Americas exhibition at the Georgia World Congress Centre in Atlanta this coming May.

Mrs. Frédérique Mutel, President and CEO of JEC Group, says “The JEC Innovation Awards Program continues to identify and celebrate the very top innovators from the Americas and abroad to help fulfil JEC’s mission to share the latest industry advances with the global composites community. From environmentally friendly bio-based resins to cutting-edge personal protection to innovative musical applications to integrated software and preforming processes, the products and technologies highlighted in this year’s competition are incredibly rich and varied.

According to Plataine, its patent pending production optimisation and automation solutions bridge the gap between CAD, ERP and the production floor, enabling manufacturers of composite and metal structures to be more competitive by increasing material utilisation, improving productivity, controlling quality and shortening manufacturing cycles to ensure on-time delivery of products to customers.

Plataine explains its core product, Total Production Optimisation (TPO), processes all production and engineering data in a single decision-making framework in real time. TPO offers manufacturers an end-to-end solution that optimally selects raw material and utilises remnants, generates cut-plans and nests, uses RFID technology to track production floor activities and provides management reports for analysis and future plans. The solution takes into consideration multiple factors such as customer requirements, order delivery date, geometric part-files, inventory on hand and machine capabilities. Plataine’s solutions are cloud-based and offered on a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) basis.

>Mr. Ben-Bassat, Plataine’s President & CEO explains “We are honoured to be selected as Winner of the 2014 JEC Americas Innovation Award for the Software Category. This recognition acknowledges Plataine’s commitment and dedication to constantly meet the unique challenges which composite parts manufacturers face and encourages us to continue to design, develop, and implement cutting-edge technology to the aerospace industry.
