Plataine and Argosy International have signed a co-operation agreement to increase manufacturing efficiencies and drive innovation and competitive advantage for composites component manufacturers in the Asia-Pacific region.
Argosy is constantly seeking ways to help Aerospace customers deploy state of the art technologies and services associated to composite manufacturing such as IIoT and optimisations tools in order to maintain their competitive advantage in the market. The co-operation agreement with Plataine is said to further establish Argosy’s position in this region as a key composite material and manufacturing services supplier and is essential to the development of its range of solutions enabling composite manufacturers to increase quality and profitability. “It is our mission to create value to our customers by increasing their productivity through high performance products, distribution and support services that meet customer and regulatory requirements worldwide – on time, every time,” said Paul Marks, CEO of Argosy International. “The partnership with Plataine will allow us to offer our customers not only outstanding products using Plataine’s technology, but also an innovative powerful technology to streamline their manufacturing processes leveraging the Industrial Internet of Things, and allowing them real-time context aware optimised decisions to facilitate every aspect of their business in these challenging production environments,” Marks adds.
Plataine explains that its TPO (Total Production Optimisation) solution combines IIoT technology to collect manufacturing and quality related data on the production floor, with proprietary optimisation software algorithms to improve visibility and control, raise production alerts, and make actionable, optimised production decisions and recommendations in real time. Plataine’s TPO tracks a range of assets, such as raw material, WIP kits, tools, assemblies and finished-products. The solution stores and analyses all this information, providing real time visibility along the production lifecycle to ensure all parts comply with the industry’s rigorous quality requirements. It also creates a paperless ‘Digital Thread’ allowing to comply with audits and perform quick Impact Analyses when quality concerns arise. TPO sends alerts of critical thresholds, production delays or bottlenecks to relevant stakeholders, as well as optimised action instructions, driving dramatic improvements of production efficiencies.
“We are excited to be part of Argosy International’s path to expand its offering to its current and future aerospace customers. This partnership is extremely strategic to us and is a key enabler to offer aerospace manufacturers the highest level of services and support our rapid growth in the Asia Pacific region. I am confident this broad and mutual offering – contributing to engage IIoT and mobility technologies – will dramatically push the customers’ productivity level even further,” said Avner Ben-Bassat, Plataine’s President & CEO.
