The opening ceremony for the recent new building at the Institute for Advanced Composites and Robotics (IACR), Prilep, Macedonia, will take place on 1st of August 2012.

According to Mikrosam, it founded IACR in 2009 as one of the first private institutes involved in advanced composites and robotics. It says the main mission of the institute is to develop new technologies for the production of advanced composite materials through innovation in modelling, simulation and control of industrial robots.

Mikrosam explains that main activities of the IACR are:

  • Joint participation on R&D projects, which will involve research and development of various materials, process and equipment and production technology.
  • Creating high quality students with international recognition, competitiveness and performance.
  • Mutual exchange of doctors of science and researchers for the purpose of executing workshops, presentations and lecturers in different fields of mutual interest.
  • Participation on other national, regional and international research and development projects.

The new building will have 1,500 m2, which will consist of modern laboratory with advanced equipment for composites, including six axis filament winding machine, automated fibre placement machine, prepreg making equipment, slit tape prepreg machine and relevant software solutions.

Mikrosam says the opening ceremony will be honoured by the presence from the President of the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Professor Gjorge Ivanov PhD, as well as many word wide partners, suppliers and customers of Mikrosam.
