Cerritos College Composites Training Center (CTC) has expanded their training capacity through the launching of a manufacturing demonstration cell, which enables safe, clean and seamless presentations, demonstrations, workshops and training events.
This state-of-the-art “Manufacturing Demonstration Cell” has access for outsized tooling and equipment and is designed specifically to maximize access and provide the highest-visibility to the learning audience. The newly designed Particulate Emission Containment Processing environment consists of over 3,000 sq./ft. of instructional area, plural uniform airflow spray booths which meet and/or exceed current OSHA and SCAQMD regulatory requirements, side-draft exhaust flow, side-out rollup conveyer doors, overhead lighting fixtures and internal compressed air plumbing.
The Demonstration Cell is scheduled for immediate use in conjunction with 9 and 18-week composite classes, as well as specialized seminars, workshops and demonstrations in Resin Transfer Molding, Resin Infusion, and Specialty Coating Technologies. In addition, the new facility will be used for Certificate Training in Repair, Fiberglass and Tooling and will be used in conjunction with upcoming clinics collocated with the Composite Fabricators Association (CFA), Society of Material and Process Engineering (SAMPE), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Society of Plastics Engineering (SPE) events which will be open to the public.
The Composites Training Center (CTC), established in 1985, regularly provides training services for the Aerospace, Automotive, and Marine, Medical, Recreational and Commercial markets. The Center’s clientele includes Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and the Department of Defense, Federal Aviation Administration and other national prime and subcontractors.
