New UK Composites Short Courses

Dark Matter Composites and Oxford & Cherwell Valley College have teamed up to develop a new programme of short courses for the industry.

The most popular courses ‘Introduction to Composite Materials’ and ‘Basic Prepreg Laminating’ have been scheduled for three weeks in June 2006. Specific details are now available from either partner. Dark Matter Composites managing director Rodney Hansen set up the composites training centre and continues to help in the training of composites apprentices. “The college continues to play a significant role in providing composites training. It has one of the best training facilities in the UK and we will continue to support them as far as possible.” Rodney Hansen, Dark Matter Composites.

Oxford and Cherwell Valley College, part of the National College for Motorsport, has a performance engineering facility in Bicester. The college offer a range of composite courses from one week short courses all the way through to composites apprenticeship programmes. “Our partnership with Dark Matter Composites has enabled us to ensure our training is up-to-date to support the industry.” Peter Reynolds, Oxford & Cherwell Valley College.
