CTL are moving from their current facility in Galway City to a new facility some 10 miles outside of the city in An Spidéal, County Galway.

The new facility has a area of 6000 square ft, which will allow CTL to increase its testing capacity and also allow the building of a clean room to give them the capability to manufacture laminates, as well as machining and testing.

CTL now have the capability to carry out fractographic examinations of mounted micro sections of components and specimens using a Meiji compound microscope and associated image analysis software. They have also just purchased a Krautkramer Ultrasonic Immersion tank comprising Sigeaux motion controllers and a USN 60 flaw detecto, to enable them to carry out NDT examination of laminates and components by ultrasonic “C” scan.

The move will be completed by March 28th.
