A new business, Connect Composites, has just been launched to help companies find their way through the maze of different composite materials and processing techniques.
Connect Composites, part of the NetComposites group of companies, has been set up specifically to provide independent advice on the selection of materials, process techniques and component suppliers, brokering supply contracts on behalf of companies new to the composites industry.
With today’s pressure on companies to produce more energy-efficient products, an increasing number of manufacturers are turning to composites materials to take advantage of their unique properties in helping to meet these new challenges.
One of the major hurdles preventing their usage in a wider range of applications has been the continuous fast pace of introduction of new materials and manufacturing technologies which, combined with a constantly changing supply base, makes the industry difficult to understand for new entrants.
Connect Composites has been created to help these companies use composite materials simply and effectively by offering a consultancy and brokerage service, based on their extensive expertise in composites manufacturing. Their services are aimed directly at businesses that do not possess the necessary expertise in composite materials or who temporarily require additional resources to bring a product to market.
With manufacturing know-how ranging from automotive, aerospace and marine, to a variety of other industrial and medical applications, Connect Composites can offer expert support and advice to help companies determine commercially critical issues such as what technologies to adopt or which suppliers to use.
Connect Composites’ objective is to reduce the commercial risks and compress the time for products to reach the market. Their services should hopefully help increase the use of composite materials in new and exciting applications.
