Gurit will be presenting a series of products for the marine, automotive and wind energy markets at the JEC 2007 exhibition in Paris from 3rd – 5th April.
The latest addition to porfolio of marine technologies is ST70. This structural laminating product, part of the patented Sprint range, produces a reduction in cure temperature to 70°C. ST70 is said to provide excellent mechanical properties, long outlife and ultra-low void content laminates from vacuum-bag-only processing. ST70 is suitable for use in the high volume manufacture of hulls, decks and bulkheads.
Gurit’s development of a composite automotive package took a significant step in 2006 with a joint technology program between the company and one of the world’s most prestigious OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Gurit will start the supply of parts from a dedicated new facility at its UK site during 2007
Gurit has developed an all-in-one, in-mould surfacing solution for wind turbine blade production. Sprint IPT (Integrated Primer Technology) combines Sprint triax with a high performance surfacing technology, replacing the need for individual triax and coating materials. IPT technology incorporates a compatible toughened, abradable, surfacing film which when cured provides a direct paintable surface. This eliminates the need for a process coat in turbine blade production, thus saving considerable production lay-up time and cost.
