UNOVA Manufacturing Technologies will locate its Cincinnati Machine aerospace and after-market services business in an existing UNOVA facility in the Greater Cincinnati Area. The facility is located in Hebron, KY near the Northern Kentucky Greater Cincinnati Airport.
The Hebron facility will be expanded by 33 percent, in order to add manufacturing space with reinforced floors to handle the production of Cincinnati Machine’s sophisticated aerospace composites product line. In addition, a new technology center will be built to support the research and development required to maintain Cincinnati Machine’s market leadership.
The growth of Cincinnati Machine’s aerospace and technology business, in conjunction with the new technology center, will allow the company to continue, and build, its close relationship with TechSolve, an Ohio Edison Technology Center. TechSolve will serve as an extension of Cincinnati Machine’s Research and Development Group, charged with creating next generation technologies and equipment for the aerospace industry.
In addition to the composites product line, the facility will serve as the production headquarters for Cincinnati Machine’s advanced technology, high-speed, multi-axis, and multi-function products for the global aerospace industry.
The after-market products and auxiliary services group will also be headquartered at the Hebron facility. This organization provides complete lifecycle support for the global installed base of Cincinnati Machine and Lamb Technicon products, which serve the aerospace, automotive, heavy equipment and industrial components industries.
The search for a new facility began last October when UNOVA, Inc., parent company of Cincinnati Machine and Lamb Technicon, announced plans for a global consolidation of operations designed to improve efficiency and profitability. Cincinnati Machine, founded in 1884, has operated in the Greater Cincinnati area for more than a century. The move of operations and offices will begin mid-year and will continue in phases as construction progresses. As the facility remains in the Greater Cincinnati area, personnel relocations are not anticipated to be necessary.
