Composites UK reports that a new initiative running in conjunction with adviser Briar Associates has established significant savings on energy taxes levied by the UK government.
An initial pilot scheme has been running with Composites UK members over the last six months and is delivering proven savings for the initial participants, the association says. Sigmatex is reported to have received a £37,000 rebate on its energy bills, and a further £12,000 savings per annum are projected in the future as support for manufacturers of carbon fibre products. The company develops carbon fibre textiles for composites applications from its manufacturing base at Runcorn.
“We are delighted with the rebate and the future projected savings,” says Scott Tolson, CEO at Sigmatex. “This is another excellent scheme developed for our industry by Composites UK and Briar Associates, who have worked diligently to deliver this financial benefit.”
This cost reduction is available for users of carbon fibre in any form, subject to the establishment of the correct eligibility criteria, according to Composites UK.
Interested companies should contact Chris Dayus at Briar Associates on 01384 397777 or 07402 636482 for further details and to arrange a site visit.
