On July 1, 2009, the new Board of Directors of the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) took office.

Monty Felix, CEO of Alaglass Pools, St. Matthews, SC, now serves as President of ACMA until June 30, 2011. Felix succeeds Immediate Past President John Tickle, President of Strongwell Corp., Bristol, VA, who will remain on the Board’s Executive Committee in that capacity.

“”Never before have there been so many challenges and so many opportunities facing the composites industry,” says Felix. “I am taking the reins of ACMA during a tough economy, but I am optimistic that the advantages composites bring to so many end-use applications and the advocacy ACMA offers its members will push the industry toward greater growth.”

Lori Luchak, President of Miles Fiberglass and Composites, Portland, OR, has been selected as the new President-Elect; Steve Walling, Plasticolors, Inc., Ashtabula, OH, is Vice President; John Hoskinson, Gruber Systems, Valencia, CA, is Secretary, and Leon Garoufalis, Composites One, Arlington Heights, IL, joins the Executive Committee as Supplier at Large.

Also new to the ACMA Board of Directors is Jake Axel, Axel Plastics Research Laboratories, Woodside, NY, and David Groner, Clarion Bathware, Shippenville, PA.
