During Composites Europe, NetComposites will be showcasing some of its latest nano and construction developments ahead of its conferences, Industrial Nanocomposites Conference (INC) 2015 and Composites in Construction Middle East (CompIC ME) 2016.
NetComposites works with a range of industrial-scale manufacturers of nanomaterials, to evaluate the performance of their novel materials in a broad range of composite applications. It also works with companies across the construction sector supply chain developing new materials and processing methods.
NetComposites will feature award winning project work from the BioBuild project including materials used in a biocomposite façade system; described as being the world’s first biocomposite self-supporting façade panel for construction.
Developments from the OSIRYS project will also be showcased. Midway through, the project has results from research into photocatalytic paints, fire retardant composites, bio foams, cork cores and nano-modified polymers. Outcomes relevant to construction sector are PFA (PolyFurfuryl Alcohol) resin prepregs, primarily reinforced with glass for durability but also with flax and jute reinforcements for internal or coated external applications.
In its final stages, the NanoMaster project is reporting exciting results related to graphene and expanded graphite production and the development of novel nanocomposite intermediates, whilst the Polygraph project aims to develop a process in which graphene can be produced and dispersed “in-situ” within thermosetting polymer resins, using relatively inexpensive expanded graphite as a starting material.
Visitors to Composites Europe will be able to register for the upcoming conferences, INC 2015 and CompIC ME 2016 at the NetComposites stand.
The Industrial Nanocomposites Conference takes place on 24-25th November at SpOrt Stuttgart, Germany. The conference will explore the current and future uses of nanocomposites in a variety of applications; defining the challenges being faced in mass production, use, and future innovations.
CompIC ME 2016, sponsored by Premier Composite Technologies, will explore the current and future use of fibre reinforced composites in construction; detailing innovations and trends in the industry, potential for weight saving on large span structures, economic advantages, whole life cost, architectural freedom and diversity, and challenging traditional architectural design.
NetComposites will be exhibiting in Hall 7, Stand D07.
