NetComposites has announced a two day event which aims to showcase material and manufacturing developments in FRP’s by presenting the best quality research and technological innovations alongside detailed application test studies.

The conference will take place on 5- 6 June 2014 at Manchester Hotel, Manchester, UK.

Fibre- reinforced composites (FRP’s) are becoming a considered choice of material when it comes to many structures, not least because of their proven durability and low maintenance properties, but also due to their high strength- to- weight characteristics and design flexibility. FRP’s are used in a wide range of structures including wind, aerospace, construction, and mass transit.

>The event will provide a forum for the exchange of information on the challenges and successes of using FRP Composite Materials in a range of structures.

A selection of topics to be included is as follows:

Advances in Materials

  • High performance Composites
  • Material Systems for Fast Manufacture

Manufacturing Developments

  • Sustainable Manfuacturing Systems
  • Robotics and Automation
  • Rapid Prototyping, Tooling and Manufacture
  • Supply Chain Management

Advances In Design

  • Modelling and prediction of performance in service
  • Improved Propert Analysis

Opportunities

  • Large blades for renewable energy
  • Aircraft Wing Structures
  • Foot and road bridges
  • High performance boats
